%X This article discusses the importance of including English instruction in the curricular contents of learning institutions in Ecuador. Of particular interest for this study is how beginner-level English language learners at a public university in Guayaquil - Ecuador perform when exposed to lessons taught using two different methods – the TPRS method versus the traditional teaching method (using textbooks, workbooks and audio recordings).
